The polyurethane foam fabric of the P08 material has a high-density three-dimensional structure, which enables it to capture particles even smaller than 50 microns, preventing them from reaching the engine. In addition, P08 has a higher filtration capacity than traditional materials due to its high air contact surface area. P08 technology offers many advantages, including the extreme strength and durability of the material. In addition to the P08 version of the sports filter, Sprintfilter has developed a number of special variants for major car models, including the P08F1-85 version and the P037 version. The P08F1-85 variant features a different filter pack, specially designed to get more air into the engine than other filter systems, without compromising filtration properties.
The P08F1-85 consists of a layer of open-cell polyurethane foam, covered by a stainless steel grid, which increases its stability and resistance. Compared to the P08 technology, the P08F1-85 offers a higher filtration capacity due to an even higher pore density and an additional filtration layer. This allows even smaller, engine-damaging particles to be retained, ensuring greater protection and improved engine performance. In addition, P08F1-85 is characterised by increased resistance to high temperatures and vibrations, ensuring greater durability and stability over time. Thanks to its open-cell structure, the material is highly permeable to air, allowing a constant and homogeneous flow of air to the engine without restriction or pressure loss.
The P037 (WP) variant, on the other hand, is a waterproof, ultra-fine air filter specifically developed for use in harsh conditions such as dirt, water and dust. The P037 is capable of filtering debris down to 37 microns, while guaranteeing an air flow equivalent to that of our class-leading P08 road/race air filter. Special filter versions are not available for all car models and are only recommended for those who want to maximise the performance of their engine and have made modifications to the mechanical and electrical parts of the car. They are not suitable for classic road use.
